Greetings from the Grey Lady!!
Our very first store opened here on the island in 2018, and each summer we return with the same excitement as the first time. Nantucket holds a special place in Res Ipsa's story, and over the years, we’ve developed a few rituals that make each visit feel both familiar and new.
Whether you’ve been here before or are dreaming up your own island escape, we hope this postcard inspires your next adventure—or reminds you of your own favourite summer traditions.
Where to Eat
The island may be small, but the flavors are big. Nantucket’s best meals feel as relaxed as a bike ride to the beach or as memorable as a long dinner shared over candlelight.
Co-Founders, Odini & Josh, dining alongside Jenna (Store Manager) and Christian (Sales Associate) at Black Eyed Susan's
Black-Eyed Susan’s – A cozy, beloved BYOB tucked into a charming downtown alley. Feels like eating in someone’s home—if that someone cooked better than anyone you know.
Company of the Cauldron – For a more elevated evening, this is one of the island’s most storied restaurants. The nightly prix fixe menu changes, but always features thoughtful, seasonal dishes.
Cru – Right at the end of Straight Wharf, this is where lobster rolls meet rosé and harbor views. Go for the seafood, stay for the scene.
Juice Bar – The line says it all, but if you time it right you won't need to wait. Get the Crantucket or the Green Monster. Don’t skip the homemade waffle cone.
Where to Adventure
Nantucket is best explored by foot, by bike (take the Polpis bike path to 'Sconset), or by Jeep—especially if you're heading out to Great Point. You don’t need much, just the right people, some sunscreen, and a little sense of direction.
Summer here moves at the perfect pace—slow enough to take it all in, fast enough to chase the sun.
Jetties / Steps Beach – Easy to access, calm waters, and just enough of a breeze to keep things cool.
Brant Point Lighthouse – An iconic welcome for those arriving by ferry, and the kind of place that shows up on postcards for a reason.
Downtown Nantucket – Cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and the heart of the island. Obviously, stop by 3 India Street.
Sconset Village – Bike out and wander Mitchell Street, where weathered cottages and hydrangeas look straight out of a dream.
Harbor – Sit by the water and watch the boats bob in the harbor. Nothing fancy (besides every yacht in sight), just pure summer.
Great Point Lighthouse – Accessible by four-wheel drive only (permit required), and totally worth the journey. It’s remote, wild, and unforgettable.
